What is "Tales from the Tree"?
"Tales From the Tree' is the official fan magazine of Wildwood Holt, that includes stories and
artwork (as well as poetry and other things) from our contributing members. "Tales From Inside The
Tree", 'Stonefire's Tales", and "Antler's Dreams- Tales of our Plainsrunner Kin" are Wildwood's

Can I develop a new character- one that is not on the adoptable list?
Yes; but you must adopt one as well. If you are looking for something different perhaps a
plainsrunner of hawkblooded or flinthoof lineage may be more to your liking. Or perhaps a sea
elf or glider? New characters should have some tie, however obscure it may be, to Wildwood.

If I develop a character, can they have any magic power? Can i invent powers?
Your character can have any powers on the power list (See the EQ role playing game by
Chaosium). As for making a new power, the idea of limits is very important so don't try to
make the character super-powerful. When using the submission form, you will be
prompted to choose your magical abilities.

Who do I correspond with when developing a character?
Correspondence in reference to character design is done with the entire 'Council of Elders'
(David Zawitaj, Jennifer Borovicka, ). No one person has say over the other in approving a
character. This leads to a more balanced and coherent group that fits well within the
ElfQuest universe and fits well with other members of the fan club.

How do I submit stories and artwork to Wildwood?
We accept stories/artwork through either snail-mail or e-mail with attachments. Stories in
Window's Word Doc. Text files and artwork in Jpg. Gif. Bmp.. or other such comparable
formats. Stories, preferably should be double spaced for clarity..

What are the main sources of food for the holt?
The holt has the High One's blessings when it comes to food availability. The Chieftain's line
has many plantshapers that have provided the holt's elves with an abundance and variety of
foodstuffs with which to eat. For the carnivores in the holt, game is plentiful. It is quite common
to come home to ravvits, branchhorns, treerats, bear and pronghorns. The holt itself is located
along the Stone's Throw River, which supliaments the holt' with fresh fish.

What sort of arts and crafts do the elves of the tribe produce?
Whitetimber produces finely woven baskets while Stonefire tans hides for clothing.

Hunters, howlkeeper/loremaster, basket weaver, tanners, and the Chieftess..
What technology does the holt have?
The elves trade with a friendly group of brown skinned trolls (See the trolls of "the 'Forge')

Currently , we have rockshapers, plantshapers, a firestarter, healers, mind snare, and an

What are Wildwood's relations with humans?
There is one small group of humans to the north (4 total) that are not to be dealt with or
trusted. The chieftess is not too fond of this development. They are approximately 4 days
hard ride away in distance.

How does the tribe deal with problem resolution? If there is a serious conflict,

Foxdance, having strong ties to the elf part of her heritage, has realized that there
may be consequences to the tribes actions and will look at all sides of the
problem before a decision is made.Foxdance is still new to the position and has

Is there contact with other elf tribes?
What about the other holts that the Wildwood holt elves have come from?
The other holt's are either lost or dead to the members of Wildwood.
Does Wildwood know about Cutter? About the Blue Mountain elves? Other elves of
the series?

No, the tribe has no contact or knowledge of the Pini's elves. It has been hinted that the
gliders of The Lost Flight are from Blue Mountain and that 'The Voice In the Walls' that
often talk to the trolls is the legendary Two-edge, but this will never be confirmed.
